“Born of Ghosts continues to prove to be one of Seattle's strongest new bands. A heavy, modern take on the emo days of the mid-2000s, with all the emotional nostalgia you would hope for. In an era of mass produced, hyper-formulaic music, Born of Ghosts digs deep into genuine vulnerability and anthemic authenticity.” - Wyatt Olney

From the moody PNW, Born of Ghosts is one of Seattle's up and coming pop-punk/emo bands, determined to refresh a familiar genre with soaring melodies and aggressive, but heartfelt, songwriting.
Vocalist Jerrod and drummer Chad started the band in 2019, when their previous project fell apart. Left with the scraps of an original demo, they worked together to develop their sound and released "From the 41" in 2022.
Their sophomore album, “If It Ever Was, It Isn't Now,” is a raw self-reflection about overcoming self-doubt, anxiety, and abusive relationships. These songs are about being stuck in destructive patterns with toxic people, and sometimes enjoying that mess even when you know it’s bad for you. The album takes you on a journey from rock bottom, clawing your way up into the light. "Drenched in Ink" screams about the endless exhaustion of trying to make someone happy that isn't right for you, giving everything up about yourself and still not being enough. "No Stairway" talks about shedding that toxic skin and moving on to brighter, better things. There's duality in the songwriting, reflective of life and the struggles we all go through.
